Certificate in Infection Prevention and Control
Overview
The University of British Columbia Centre for Teaching, Learning and Technology (formerly Office of Learning Technology) and the Departments of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine and Health Care and Epidemiology, in conjunction with the Vancouver Hospital Division of Medical Microbiology and Infection Control, offer a Certificate in Infection Prevention and Control. The first students were accepted into the first course, Path 427, in January 2001, with new courses added in subsequent years.
The courses have been highly popular and have received very favourable reviews from the students, who appreciate both the case-based interactive format and the scheduling flexibility offered to the working professional and adult learner. Space in the courses is limited and most offerings have been fully subscribed.
To date, 24 students have received the Certificate in Infection Prevention and Control.
