Research Interests

Lipid requirements for neonatal brain development.

Central nervous system membranes contain large proportions of long-chain polyunsaturated fatty acids, which are crucially important to a wide array of biochemical and physiological events. The research here combines a laboratory approach investigating transport of fatty acids to brain and their role in metabolism with clinical studies investigating the effect of dietary fatty acids on neurodevelopment in infants.
